Lance Hambly
What kind of designer are you?
I'm a product designer with a visual design background and a soft spot for complicated problems. I'm on CoreWeave's Physical AI team (formerly Monolith), where I turn machine learning and physics-heavy tools into products that engineers actually enjoy using.
For most of my time at Monolith I've been the only designer in the room. That means I do a bit of everything: user research, workshops, wireframes, design systems, and pixel-pushing right up to launch. It's taught me to move quickly, ask annoying questions early, and make sense of a lot of technical detail.
Lately I've been using AI agents to turn ideas into working prototypes, joining the dots between design and code, and automating the boring parts of my workflow. That way I get to spend less time handing work off and more time testing real things with real users.
I care about design that's clear, useful and delightful, especially when the users are some of the world's top engineering teams and the subject matter is anything but simple.
It's been said that I plan unforgettable parties.

HAMBLY STUDIO
Visual Designer & Director - December 2018 to March 2023
Worked on a variety of projects across different sectors through my own company, with a focus on digital products. First Designer for several key product startups as well as integrating with more established companies looking to expand. Used these experiences to hone and widen my skills in user-centred design.
Took products from initial concept through MVP to an innovative and exciting product. Transformed initial screens into a robust design system capable of scaling into new features. Worked closely with teams to develop new features that led to increased market penetration and revenue.
Utilised my experience in and knowledge of the energy and renewables sector to help high-profile clients achieve their communication goals - from very large international brands to smaller energy developers and sustainability initiatives.
Maintained a foothold in more traditional graphic design projects such as packaging, presentation, web, print and video.
MY FOOTBALL HUB
First Designer - May 2019 to March 2023
End-to-end design - defined high level company goals, led on strategy, UX & UI, whilst creating and maintaining a strong and energising brand. Brought the app from concept to users’ hands, collaborating with development and marketing to ensure the product stayed true to the company’s principles and vision.
LIGHTSOURCE BP
Lead Creative - June 2013 to December 2018
Heading up the in-house creative function, I had diverse responsibilities spanning across print, film, web content management, and UI design. In addition to my own work, I have also led external resources and managed key stakeholders across the business. I have played a pivotal role in driving large projects within the marketing and communications team, and was fortunate to train and lead a small team of other designers.

One of my standout achievements is the successful execution of several large rebrand initiatives for the main and partner brands. These projects required careful planning, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders. Through my dedication and hard work, I was able to deliver successful rebrands that elevated the visual identity of the company and its partners.
